   About the author:

John Warren was born and raised in Bluford, IL.

He has solid roots there, having graduated from Bluford Grade School, Webber Township High School (WTHS), and working on and off over a 12 year period at the ICRR Bluford Yards. He attended Southern IL University, Carbondale, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science  Electronics Engineering (BSEE) from the University of IL. His professional career as a Research & Development, Systems, and Project Engineer was divided between the Missile & Aerospace Industry and the USDA Forest Service. He has spent time at all the major U.S. missile test sites, the NASA facilities, and the Pentagon, and had many interesting experiences. He has been to all 50 states, 21 countries, and 5 continents.

He has been married for over 50 years to Janette (Hawkins) of Mt. Vernon, IL. They have 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. They have lived in Nampa, Idaho for over 26 years. He is retired now and runs a cattle ranch in Idaho.

(OK, then, would you believe 5 acres and two steers?)

Sadly John Warren passed away February 20, 2006.
I can't express how grateful I am that he was willing to share his work and photos with all of us.

(Note from Sandy Bauer - John was my 3rd cousin twice removed. His wife sent me a copy of John's book after he died.)
