OLD BLUFORD GRADE SCHOOL

There were many one room and a few two room grade schools out around Bluford. Some of thoise were: Black Oak Ridge, Webber Grove, Screamer or Wetherspoon, Hickory Hill, Marlow, Markham City and a few more. None of those are schools anymore. Webber Grove has been the Bluford American Legion Hall for a number of years. The Hickory Hill School building was moved to the Jefferson County Historical Society Site in northwest Mt. Vernon.

BLUFORD HIGH SCHOOL

WEBBER TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL

Bluford High School went from a 2 year to a 3 year High School then when the name changed in 1938, it became Webber Township High School.

Note from Sandy:
Since John wrote his book and after his death, the WTHS high school was demolished due to asbestos. A new addition was built on to the gradeschool to house the high school.
