Ireta K. Fitzjerrells

Ireta K. Fitzjerrells, 93, of Mt. Vernon died 2:35 p.m. March 14, 2005, at Mt. Vernon Care Center in Mt. Vernon. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Holloway Heating & Cooling until her retirement at the age of 85.

Mrs. Fitzjerrells was born Nov. 19, 1911, in New Mexico to Charles and Lora (Long) Reynolds. She married Carl Fitzjerrells May 1, 1932, in Mt. Vernon; he died May 11, 1967.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Everett Lemay will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Fitzjerrells is survived by a daughter, Rita Germann and husband Alvin of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren Carl Gregory of Mesa, Ariz., Cheryl Lung and husband Ken of Tempe, Ariz., Andy Germann of Mt. Vernon and Rodney Germann and wife Donna of Downers Grove; and great-grandchildren Jason Williams, Bryce Germann, Lacey Gregory, Marcy Germann, Rebekah Lung, Olivia Germann and Ian Germann.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Nita Gregory; and three sisters.

Mrs. Fitzjerrells was a member of Logan Street Baptist Church, Rebecca Lodge and Eastern Star. She was a pianist for West Salem Trinity United Methodist Church for many years.
