Before me D. Baugh Probate Justice in and for said county personally came
Felix Boswell and on his oath saith that Samuel Boswell died on or about the 4thday
of Feb'y. inst. and is he believes intestate.

Know all men by these presents that we Felix Boswell, Eli Gilbert, Sen'r. and John W. Hagle
of the County of Jefferson and State of Illinois are held and firmly bound unto the People
of the State of Illinois in the penal sum of Eight Hundred Dollars current money of the
United States which payment will and truly to be made we hereby bind ourselves our heirs
executors administrators and assigns jointly severally and firmly by these presents witness
our hands
and seals this 11th day of February A. D. 1846.
The condition of the above obligation is such that if the said Felix Boswell and
Eli Gilbert, Sen'r. administrators of all and singular the goods and chattels rights and
credits of Samuel Boswell deceased do make or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory
of all and singular the goods and chattels rights and credits which were of the said deceased
which shall come into their hands, possession or knowledge of them the said Felix Boswell &
Eli Gilbert as such administrators, or to the hands of any other person or persons for them and
the same so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited in the Court of Probate for the said County
of Jefferson according to law, and such goods and chattels rights and credits which shall be
found remaining on the account of such administrators which shall be found remaining upon the
account of the said administrator the same being first examined and allowed in the Court of
Probate shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons as may be legally entitled thereto;
and further do
make a just and true account of all their actings and doings herein when thereunto required by
said Court, and if it shall hereafter appear that any last will and testament was made by the
deceased and the same proven in Court and letters testamentary or of administration be granted
thereon and the said Felix Boswell & Eli Gilbert Sen'r. do in such case on being required
thereto, render and deliver up said letters of administration granted to them as aforesaid; and
shall in general do and perform all other acts which now are or hereafter may be required of
them by law then the above obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue
in law.

The People of the State of Illinois to John W. Hagle, Sidney Place and Asa Newell
of the county of Jefferson and state of Illinois, Greeting:
This is to authorize you jointly to appraise the goods and chattels and personal
estate of Samuel Boswell late of the County of Jefferson and state of Illinois deceased so
far as the same shall come to your sight and knowledge, each of you having first taken the
oath hereto annexed. A certificate whereof you are to return annexed to an appraisement
bill of said goods and chattels and personal estate by you apprised in dollars and cents,
and in the said bill of appraisement you are to set down in a column or columns opposite to
each article appraised the value thereof.

in Mt. Vernon this 11th day of February A. D. 1846.

No all to whom these presents come, greeting. Whereas this is a list of the land belonging
to the estate of Samuel Boswell dessed. in the State of Illinois Jefferson county and the kind
and quality of the South half of the north west quarter of section thirty six in township three
south of Range one east in Knobe Pearrarie containing eighty acres the norh west half of said
eighty is fensed and thirty acres in cultivation supposed to be worth $252 and the South West
quarter of Section thirty-six and the Eeast half of the South East quarter of section thirty
five in Township three South of Range one East and the kind of land of the South west quarter
of Section thirty six is as follows consisting of Perrarie timber and hasle with thirty acers
under fens and fifteen in cultivation and $252 the kind of land of the South Easte quarter of
Section thirty five in Township three South of Range one East is as folows consisting of all
timber and no improvement excepte the bildings and supposed to be worth $260 dollars and the
total amounte $764 dollars.

This day came the plaintiff in his own proper person as well as the
defendant and confessed judgment herein in favour of the plaintiff
in the sum of twenty seven dollars and sixty cents damages, and one
hundred and nine dollars and fifty cents debt making the sum of one
hundred and thirty seven dollars & 16 cents ($137.16). It is therefore
ordered by the court that the said Plaintiff receive of the said
defendant the said sum of one hundred and thirty seven dollars and
sixteen cents his debt and damages together with the costs in this

A list of the noats and accounts of the estate of Samuel Boswell deceased
this the 14th day A. D. 1846.
One note on Joseph Laur of the amount of twenty two dollars and eighty three
cts. This note was given on 13th day of January 1846 and is due 13 months
after date and is supposed to be good.
One note on his brother John Boswell deceased about 10 or 12 years ago and
his brother William Boswell is security to the note but this note was not
proven before the judge of Probate but William Boswell is alive yet but good
or bad ? now and this note is a trade note.
A open acounte on Orrange Griffith for 6 hundred and 24 rails? supposed to
be bad.
A open account on Henry Moor of $2.25 supposed to be good.
Money recived at the sale of the personal property Two dollars and
18 2/4 cts.
