1896 - 1897 a School in Belle Rive
Unsure of name of school. Willis Shipley is the teacher.

My great grandmother, Giula Jean Womelduff, is the little girl in the front row, second from the right. Based on her age, she was born in Belle Rive in 1890, I am guessing this photo was taken about 1896-97.

I remember her telling me the second boy to the left of Willis Shipley, the taller one with the hat, was named Peter. He did not want his photo taken and ran away. Willis Shipley had to chase him down and drag him back.

Can anyone help with the identity of any of the other students?

Chester Stigers Family and his brother

This family worked with my gr gr grandfather, James Henry Womelduff.
Jim was reportedly the manager of a large farm in Jefferson county that belonged to a man named Col. Peavy or Pavey.

Chess Stigger and Hannah Kinney were married 11-29-1893 in Madison County, IL.

Chester J. Stigger is listed among the Unmarked Graves 1859 - 7-13-1907 Burial: Union Cemetery

The three boys listed in 1900 were from a previous marriage of Chester.

In 1910 the boys are living in Chicago with an Aunt & Uncle Daniel & Lizzie Bell also living with them, is a brother in law William Stewart, possible that Lizzie may have been Chester's sister.

Earnest is listed in 1910 as Elwood and there is a Mable Stigger listed as a niece as well age 21.
