Eunice Maria (Klune) Youngblood

Mrs. E. D. Youngblood

Eunice Maria Lune was born in Wayne county, Penn., Feb. 2, 1835. At the age of one year she came with her parents to Vanderburg county, Ind.

In 1854 she came to Jefferson county, Illinois, as a teacher.

She was married to Edmund D. Youngblood in Franklin county, April 23, 1857. They resided for a time in Perry county and in Saline county, also a short time in Benton, Ill., going from there to Harrisburg, from Harrisburg to Shawneetown and from Shawneetown to Mt. Vernon in 1893. Judge Youngblood died Nov. 16, 1906.

She was the mother of four children, two of whom died in infancy, one at the age of ten, and Mrs. Eva Y. Barton; and two grandchildren, Mrs. Harry Heidler and Edmund Y. Barton, surviving her.

Though notably modest and retiring in dispoisition, her numerous other temperamental graces made friends of all who were so fortunate as to come within the charmed circle of her acquaintance. She was a most excellent lady; kindly disposed toward all; a warm-hearted friend and generous neighbor.

Funeral services from the residence, North and Ninth streets, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. A. Taylor, of Vandalia, assisted by Rev. C. D. Shumard. The remains can be viewed from 11 to 1 o'clock tomorrow. Interment at Oakwood.
