Rheba I. (Piercy) Davidson Yearwood

Rheba I. Yearwood, 69, of Texico and a former resident of Mt. Vernon died at 3:45 a.m. Feb. 2, 1997, at the home of her son, Melvin Davidson of Texico.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Yearwood was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Jefferson County, a daughter of Charles and Ferne (Steele) Piercy.

She was first married to Hubert Davidson and later married John L. Yearwood, who preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Boyd Cemetery, Boyd, with the Rev. Arnold Peterson officiating. Those attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Tuesday morning. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Yearwood is survived by a son, Melvin L. Davidson and wife Roberta of Texico; a granddaughter, Rhonda Davidson of Texico; two stepsons, David Yearwood and wife Shirley of Texico and Don Yearwood and wife Donna of Mt. Vernon; seven stepgrandchildren; eight great-stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Freda Lane and husband Verdon of Opdyke and Velma England and husband William of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Casey Avenue Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one granddaughter, Shelly Davidson Wilson; two stepgrandsons, Ronnie Soencer and John Yearwood; four sisters and one brother.

For those who wish memorial may be made to the Hospice Program at the Good Samaritan Regional Health Center and will be accepted at the funeral home.
