Harley Yandell

Funeral services for Dr. Harley Yandell, a native of Jefferson county who died in Springfield, Ill. yesterday, will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Bayne Wilson, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will conduct the services and burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time after 7:00 pm today.

Dr. Harley Yandell was born April 18, 1884 in Jefferson county, the son of James T. and Sarah Elizabeth (King) Yandell.

He graduated from Mt. Vernon high school, McKendree College and the St. Louis University School of Medicine.

He first practiced medicine at Bonnie, later took a post graduate course and practiced for many years as an ear, eye and nose specialist at Phoenix, Arizona. He retired from active practice three years ago because of failing health.

He was converted and joined the Zion Methodist Church as a young man.

He is survived by one son, Hollis, of Phoenix, Arizona; one daughter, Betty Ann of California; two brothers, Oscar E. and Leonard Yandell of Mt. Vernon; and two sisters, Mrs. Etta Frost of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Mary Staley of Normal, Ill.

He was preceded in death by one son, Grady Glen and two brothers, Henry Morton and Sammie and one sister, Nancy Jane.
