Thomas H. "Tom" Woodcock Jr.

Thomas H. "Tom" Woodcock Jr., 71, of Bluford died 5:20 a.m. Nov. 2, 2005, at his residence in Bluford.

He was general manager for Lays Manufacturing.

Mr. Woodcock was born July 25, 1934, in LaForge, Mo., to Thomas Herbert Woodcock Sr. and Mandy Bell (Lashley) Woodcock.

He married Connie E. (Townsend) Woodcock on Jan. 17, 1961, in New Madrid, Mo.; she survives.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Brian Palmer will officiate. Burial will follow at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Woodcock is survived by his wife, Connie E. Woodcock of Bluford; a son, Thomas Bradley Woodcock and wife Gayla of Bluford; a daughter, Cynthia Diane Ballard and husband Jerry of Bluford; six grandchildren, Byron Ballard and wife Rachel of Wayne City, B.J. Woodcock of Bluford; Hannah Woodcock of Anna, Kelsey Woodcock of Anna, Leslie Eckles of Bluford and Army Pvt. Dustin Eckles and wife Justina of Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a great-grandson, Zachary Ballard of Wayne City; two brothers, Ed Woodcock and wife Arlene of Waltonville and Charles "Chuck" Woodcock and wife Lil of Belleville; a sister, Wilma Stone and husband Jerry of Freeburg; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Mr. Woodcock served with the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960.
