Pierce Wood

Pierce WOOD, of Shiloh Township, died Sunday at 2:00 p.m. o'clock p.m. at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Louis McMEEN, on Conger Avenue, this city.

Funeral services will be held at the McMEEN home tomorrow at 12 o'clcock, conducted by the Rev. W. H. BLAKE, and burial will follow at Old Shiloh Cemetery.

Death was caused by Bright's disease, with which Mr. WOOD suffered some years. He had been in very poor health for months and his death was not a surprise.

He is survived by his wife, and the collowing named children: Mrs. Gertie HANEY of Rome Township; Mrs. Joseph SMITH of Ipava, IL; and John WOOD of Shiloh Township; and Jesse WOOD at home.

Two brothers, John and Wink WOOD; and one sister, Mrs. MADDOX, reside at Woodlawn.

Mr. WOOD was well known in Shiloh Township and the west part of Jefferson County, and was held in high esteem by everyone.

About a week ago, Mr. WOOD was brought to Mt. Vernon to the home of his daughter, Mrs. McMEEN, where he died.
