Fred A. Wood

Fred A. Wood, 77, of Route 2, Bluford, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Wood was a farmer and for several years was employed as a plumber at E. F. Wielt company.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Bluford Funeral Home, with the Rev. Oran E. Breeze officiationg. Burial will be in East Hickory Hill cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Bluford Funeral Home, in Bluford, where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Wood was born Aug. 30, 1898, in Opdyke, the son of James and Alice (Payne) Wood.

On Sept. 23, 1922, in Nashville, ILL., he was married to Helen Henry, who preceded him in death Nov. 13, 1956.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Wanda Lee) Huff of Bluford; four grandchildren, Rick Huff, Rhonda Huff, Randy Huff and Rae Lyn Huff, all of Bluford; one brother, Roy T. Wood of Champaign; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister, Sadie, and one brother, Lloyd.

Mr. Wood was a member of the Mt. Olive General Baptist church.
