Rev. B. G. Wood, born June 16, 1829, died in Jefferson County, Ilinois, March 9, 1911. He was converted at sixteen and joined the United Brethren Church, to which he was faithful till death. He married Mary E. Whitsell; seven children were born, five of whom survive, all being Christians. He served three years in the Civil War. In 1866 he moved from New Goshen, Indiana, to Jefferson County, Illinois. He was licensed to preach about thirty years ago and labored in several fields with quite a degree of success. His wife has been dead eleven years. Afflicted with paralysis a few years since, his only daughter cared for him, and he bore his suffering with great resignation -- J. Coffman.
