Nancy Cotton Wilson

Miss Nancy (Cotton) was born August 1, 1828, and died at her home near Mt. Vernon, Illinois, June 17, 1912, age 84 years, 10 months and 17 days.

She had one brother, William, and two sisters, Elizabeth and Katherine, who with her father and mother, have preceded her to the better land.

She was converted some 45 years ago at Cincinnati, Ohio in a Methodist meeting. She became a member of Hopewell M. E. Church, Feb. 1st, 1887 under the pastorate of Wm. Browder.

She was married to John Wilson Sept 10, 1867, who still survives.

She leaves to mourn her departure an aged companion, who through her years of affliction was faithful, kind, and true; one only daughter who was devoted to her mother’s needs; and an orphan daughter, who was to her as her own child, ready to respond to her mother’s call; also two cousins, Mrs. Fern Moffett and Miss Hallie Brown, of Cincinnati, Ohio, with other relatives and friends. Bless be the tie that binds.
