Herbert C. WILSON, 81, of Arnold, Mo., died 8:57 a.m. March 24, 2007, in Arnold.

He was born Sept. 8, 1925, in Bonnie, a son of Henry Dale and Floey (WELLS) WILSON.

He married Ruth (SHELTON) WILSON on Aug. 25, 1947; she died Jan. 13, 2000.

The funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Johnston Funeral Home in Ina with the Rev. Eric DUPREE officiating. Burial will be in Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Military graveside rites will be accorded by Mt. Vernon American Legion Post 141.

He is survived by two daughters, Carla (Rich) GILLUM and Karen (Chuck) DIERKER; grandchildren Julie, Jenny, Becky and Tyler; a great-grandchild, Ruth; and a brother, Richard (Shirley) WILSON.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oakville, Mo., and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
