Lewis Lamuel Williams

Lewis Williams Retired Farmer Dies at Age 82

Lewis Lamuel Williams died at 1:00 a.m. today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Burnett Wells of RFD 3, Mt. Vernon. His age was 82 years, 4 months, and 26 days.

Mr. Williams, a retired farmer, had been in failing health for the past three years.

He was born December 21, 1868.

He was married to Annie French, who preceded him in death June 18, 1949.

He is survived by three sons, Annison of Cullman, Ala.; John of Elsinore, Calif.; and Cpl. Charles stationed in New York with the US Army; three daughters, Mrs. Vera Russell of Bluford; Miss Lorene Williams of Evansville, Ind.; and Mrs. Burnett Wells of Mt. Vernon; three brothers, Roe of St. Louis, MO; and Walter and Oscar of Bluford; a sister Mrs. Inez Sawyer of Texico; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and a son. Mr. Williams was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

The body was removed to the Pulley Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements were incomplete.
