Jerry Bob Williams

Jerry Bob Williams, 58, Route 5, died 11:11 pm May 8, 1991, at his home.

Mr. Williams was employed in maintenance at Mammoth Department Store until suffering from failing health.

He was born March 24, 1933, in Mt. Vernon, a son of Lester M. and Dorothy E. (Carpenter) Williams.

April 4, 1952, in Hernando, Miss., he married Phyllis J. Carpenter, who survives.

Services will be 1 pm Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home with the Revs. Chris Hayward and Ron Aissie officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 pm today at the funeral home.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Williams is survived by one daughter, Debra Aissa of Mt. Vernon; three sons, Sgt. Jerry L Williams and wife, Sue, stationed in Yakima, Wash., with the U.S. Army, Larry B. Williams and wife, Bev of Mt. Vernon and Darrin L. Williams and wife, Sherri, of Carlyle; one sister, Mrs. Larry (Nancy) Hancock of Mt. Vernon; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Williams was a member of Christian Fellowship Church and Carpenters Local 636 of Mt. Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Charles L. Williams.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home at any time.
