Hiram B Williams

Hiram B Williams was born in Tennessee September 1st 1816 and died September 7th, 1904, his age being 88 years and 7 days.

He professed a hope in Christ about 70 years ago and was baptized into the fellowship of the Baptist church and he lived a consistent member.

He was a charter member in the organization of the Harmony Baptist church, which organized in 1884.

Hiram B Williams and Lucy Conneb [as published] were joined in marriage in the year 1835 and to them 10 children were born, three of whom survive, R.S. of East St. Louis; Jas. G of Farrington township; andA.M. Williams of Mt Vernon; and scores of grand children and great grandchildren, most of whom live in Jefferson County, IL

Deceased moved to his farm 9 miles North-east of Mt Vernon, IL in 1856 from Robinson Co, Tenn., being among the early pioneers of this county.

His wife "Aunt" Lucy Williams died February 24th 1893 at the age of 81 years since which time he has been living with his son, J G Williams, on the old farm.

The funeral services were conducted at the residence of J G Williams by the Revs. Cal Richardson and John Norman, after which interment at Atkinson Cemetery.
