Hazel "Doll" (Wilson) Wiggins

Hazel "Doll" Wiggins, 90, of Bluford died 11:10 p.m. Sept. 19, 2004, at Mt. Vernon Care Center in Mt. Vernon.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Wiggins was born July 23, 1914, in Wayne County to Willie and Florence (Youngblood) Wilson.

She married Harry Wiggins April 12, 1929, in Aden; he died in May of 1973.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Cemetery in Wayne County. The Revs. Gale Breeze and Jerry Brown will officiate. Those attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Wednesday. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Wiggins is survived by sons Robert “Bob” Wiggins and wife Martha of Mt. Vernon, Edward Wiggins and wife Alice of DeKalb and Jim Wiggins and wife Mary Kathryn of Bluford; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Mitchell Wilson of Waltonville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Keith Wilson and Ray Wilson; and a sister, Blanche Wilson.

Mrs. Wiggins was a member of Zion Baptist Church.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt.
