Elmer Wittaker Funeral Today

Funeral services for Elmer Elias Whittaker, of Mt. Vernon, were held at 3:00 p.m. today at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Bird Green officiating, and burial followed in South Hickory Hill cemetery.

Mr. Whittaker died at 6:58 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital. His age was 70 years, 11 months and three days.

He was a butcher at harry's Market until two years ago.

Mr. Whittaker was born January 21, 1880 in Murphysboro, Ill.

He was married to Gerogia Ann Yearwood, who prceded him in death August 17, 1948.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Birdie Sinks of Manteno, Ill., two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
