Charles E. Whitlock
Charles E. WHITLOCK died at his home near Dix at 5:15 p.m. yesterday at
the age of 73 years. He was the son of the late Foster and Sarah (CLINK) WHITLOCK and
was married to Eva E. TATE on January 2, 1896, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Russell of Spearfish, S.D., and Leslie of Kansas City;
two daughters, Ruth, at thome and Mrs. Lawrence McDANIEL of Kell and a foster son,
Eddie LONG of Kansas City. One son, Sgt. Lowell WHITLOCK was killed in action
February 19, 1945 on Luzon.
Four brothers surviving are the Rev. W. H. WHITLOCK of Hillsboro; Wayne WHITLOCK of
Spearfish, S.D.; the Rev. O. F. WHITLOCK of Alton; and Arthur WHITLOCK of Texico; and
two sisters, Mrs. Ed TATE of Mt. Vernon; and Mrs. A. G. TEAGUE of Midland, S.D.
Mr. WHITLOCK was a member of the Dix Methodist Church from which place funeral services
will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Zion Grove Cemetery. Friends may
call at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix until 10 a.m. tomorrow morning. The body will
lie in state at the family home.
