Posey Woodside White

Posey W. White, 63, a native of Jefferson county and Spanish American war veteran, died of a heart attack at his home, 5153 Waterman avenue in St. Louis, Sunday, where he had resided for the past 25 years.

While in Mt. Vernon, Mr. White had charge of the Mt. Vernon Mattress factory. He was a Master of Mt. Vernon lodge A.F.& A.M. in 1916 and was also a member of B.P.O.E. He belonged to the Scottish Rite and Shrine in St. Louis.

He was born May 10, 1881, the son of N. W. and Isabelle (Davis) White.

In 1903 he was united in marriage to Lennie Goodrich.

Mr. White is survived by his wife, one son, Thomas A. White of Springfield, a daughter, Mrs. William Einhorn of Fort Wayne, Ind., two brothers, James W. White of Opdyke, Lee White of East St. Louis, a sister, Mrs. Ethel Krener, a step brother, A. A. McFatridge of Princeton, Ind., two step sisters, Mrs. Flora Wiecke and Mrs. Stella Webb of Mt. Vernon and four grandchildren.

The body will arrive at 10:25 Tuesday morning from St. Louis and will be taken to Myers Chapel where the Rev. Clyde Todd will conduct the funeral service at 1 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. Burial will take place at Oakwood.
