Walter R. Webb

Walter R. Webb Found Dead Beside Road in New Hope
Funeral Saturday Afternoon

Walter R. WEBB died yesterday afternoon about 3 pm of heart failure, and was found dead by the roadside by Walter FOWLER, one of his neighbors, near his home, east of Ina.

Mr. WEBB had started to a thrashing machine to help in the work when he was stricken and died. He had been in poor health for sometime.

The Coroner was called and an inquest was held and the jury finding death due to heart failure.

Mr. WEBB was born in Webbs Hill in Franklin County about 71 years ago.

He was united in marriage with Parilee HOGAN in October 1887.

Five children was born to this union as follows: Mrs. Mattie CANE of Dallas, Texas, who died more than twenty years ago, Charley, who died early in September, Willie E., who died many years ago, and Byford WEBB of Chicago, leaving two of the children, surviving.

Mr. WEBB was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church and a Trustee of the church. He took great interest in his church and its work and lived the religion that he professed.

As a farmer, he was energetic, industrious and progressive and a model citizen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at New Hope Church east of Ina, conducted by Rev. Riley BURTON and burial will follow in the cemetery neaby.

After the death of his son, Charley, he made his home with Mrs. Nellie WEBB, widow of the son, who died several weeks ago.

Mr. Charley WEBB was in a Cario restaurant when it was held up by three men and he was shot and died shortly after his wound.
