AGED CITIZEN DIED EARLY TODAY AT RESIDENCE OF SON

Caleb S. Webb, for 10 years a resident of Mt. Vernon, died this morning at 9:20 o'clock at the home of his son, S. R. Webb, 512 Herbert street, after a period of ill health of ten years. Mr. Webb's age was 85 years, 5 months and 10 days, and he was born Jan. 5, 1847, in Franklin county, Ill.

He was engaged in farming for 50 years but had been an invalid the last 10 years.

Mr. Webb's wife preceded him in death.

He is survived by two sons, S.R. Webb and W.E. Webb, both of Mt. Vernon.

He was for many years a member of Liberty Baptist church in Franklin county.

Funeral services will be held in Liberty, east of Ewing, Franklin county at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
