Warren Waite

Warren Waite Funeral Monday; Military Rites

Funeral services for Warren Waite, 62, of 206 north 12th street, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic church of which he was a member.

Father James P. Burke will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. Military rites will be in charge of the American Legion.

The body will lie in state at the Pulley Funeral Home, where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Saturday. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Waite, a well known resident and employe of the State of Illinois, died at 10:10 a.m. yesterday at the John Cochrane Veterans Administration hospital in St. Louis, MO., following a long illness.

Mr. Waite was an employee of the Mt. Vernon car shops for many years.

He was born August 30, 1903 in Mt. Vernon, the son of Henry and Minnie (Farmer) Waite.

On October 1, 1923 he was married, in Mt. Vernon, to Leila Perry, who survives.

Mr. Waite, a Navy veteran of World War II, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the Moose Lodge.

Besides his wife, Mr. Waite is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Patricia McGehee of Godfrey, Ill., and Mrs. Jacqueline Barber of New York City; one sister, Mrs. Jack Bennett of Mt. Vernon; and four grandchildren.
