Curtis Thomas Waite

IN MEMORY OF CURTIS WAITE

Poor Curtis Waite will be remembered by his many friends in and around Mt. Vernon as the son of John Waite, who was once a thrifty farmer of Jefferson county, residing a few miles east of Mt. Vernon.

It was there on his father's farm that he was stricken with paralysis of the kidneys, when he was a mere boy of fifteen. His suffering was great at times but he bore his afflications with great courage and held the tread of life to the astonishment of all who knew him for several years.

He had this short life to suffer; he has eternity to rest and rejoice. How many will look back with a glad feeling in their hearts when they think of the many times they have tried to help him bear his burden that fate had cast on him?

So let's learn to help our weakly ones for we know that this world was not made for the thrifty ones alone.

Curtis was a man of great intelligence, had his frail physical form been able to have executed his judgment.

A FRIEND
