Floyd Vaughn

Death of Floyd Vaughn

J. Floyd Vaughn died of dropsy, after an illness of about six weeks duration, at his home, six miles north west of Mt. Vernon, last night.

Deceased was a son of C. G. Vaughn and was born and raised in this county.

He was married in 1872 to Miss Emma Patton, of which union six children were born, five of whom are living.

His wife died about ten years ago and some three or four years later he was married to Miss Alice Smith, who still survives. Of this marriage one child was born.

Mr. Vaughn was 45 years of age at the time of his death and was a highly respected citizen. He was a member of the Baptist church, with which he had been connected for many years.

The funeral took place at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The burial was at Atkinson cemetery, one mile north of Camp Ground church. Mr. Vaughn was a member of a family of ten children all of whom are dead, except Mrs. Alice Hutchison and Marshall and Crit Vaughn.
