Geraldine Victoria (Shoemaker) Turner

Geraldine Victoria Turner, 84, of Mt. Vernon died 12:42 p.m. Jan. 1, 2005, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Turner was born March 25, 1920, in Tamaroa to Emro and Elsie Evelyn (McMillan) Shoemaker.

She married Orval Amos Turner on March 25, 1936, in Mt. Vernon; he died Feb. 14, 1995.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Mark Dye will officiate. Burial will follow at Old Baptist Cemetery south of Waltonville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Turner is survived by three daughters, Marjorie Myers and husband David of Mt. Vernon, Clara Story and husband Charles of Mt. Vernon and Elsie Scott and husband James T. of Mt. Vernon; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Charles Amos Turner; and a brother, Charles Shoemaker.

Mrs. Turner was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
