Amanda (Pickett) Goddard Turner

TURNER, AMANDA GODDARD, 97, Overland, Missouri, died 6:20 p.m., May 27, 2002, Bentley Extended Care, Overland, Missouri; born July 18, 1904, New Madrid, Missouri; she first married David Goddard and he died on September 29, 1957; she later married Loyd Turner on September 17, 1977, he preceded her in death on May 22, 1983; parents, Lewis J. Tucker & Rosa (Pickett) Tucker; retired from International Shoe Co. after 40 years employment.

Funeral 10:30 a.m., Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home; with burial to follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Minister Reverend Bill Fox. Visitation 5:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Survived by daughter, Doris Seymour, St. Louis, MO; stepdaughter, Margaret Sublett & husband, Bill, Overland, MO; granddaughters, Rhonda Bossommo, St. Charles, MO, Teresa Hake & husband, Bob, Overland, MO; great-grandsons, Stephen Bossomo, Andrew Bossomo, David Hake; stepgreat-grandsons, Steve Hake, Mike Hake, Rob Hake, Dan Hake, Matt Hake; sister, Dot Whitehowski, Portland, OR.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; 3 brothers, Ernest Tucker, John Tucker & Conrad Tucker and 5 sisters, Valerie Orosco, Stella Austin, Viola Tucker, Lucy Tucker and Hattie Jackson.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon, Illinois. She was also a lifetime member of Eastern Star Chapter #233, Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
