JOHN NELSON TROUT was born Aug. 15, 1848, he departed this life at his home in McLeansboro, a few minutes after 12 o’clock on the morning of Nov 9, 1906, Aged 58 years, 2 months and 24 days.

He was married to Burnetta West July 28, 1879, and she survives him as his widow.

To this union was born seven children, four sons and three daughters, namely: Mrs. Naoma Williams, Charles, Thomas, Jacob, Amie, Nelson and Ada, all living but Jacob, who departed this life Dec. 8, 1904.

The burial was at Concord church. Funeral services were conducted by Bro. Harmon, pastor of M. E. Church, of McLeansboro.
