Madelyn Trammell, 89, of Wheaton and formerly of Mt. Vernon died 7 a.m. July 22, 2005, at Wynscape Nursing Home in Wheaton.

She retired from Montgomery Ward in Mt. Vernon and also was a beautician in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Trammell was born March 9, 1916, in Opdyke to Al and Marie (Plummer) Cravens.

She married Robert J. Trammell June 7, 1938, in St. Louis; he died May 24, 1987.

Graveside services were held at Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. William “Bill” Causer officiated.

Mrs. Trammell is survived by a daughter, Anita Kite and husband Larry of Wheaton; five grandchildren, Angie, Rachel, Zach, Scott and Shawn; and a great-grandson, Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
