Walter Scott TONEY, 75, of Ina, a retired telephone operator, died Sunday evening at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Ill for the past three weeks.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mae MITCHELL; two sons, Ernest L. TONEY of Mt. Vernon and SFC Scott TONEY now serving overseas; two daughters, Mrs. Lorene CLINTON of East Alton and Mrs. Betty CONNER of Ina; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Ina Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. W. R. BURTON officiating. Interment will be in the Kirk Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Ina Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
