Nancy Ann (Chapman) Tinsley

Nancy A. Tinsley Dies At Age 84; Rites Saturday

Mrs. Nancy Ann Tinsley, of 414 north Qierry street, Centralia, died at 3:05 this morning at St. Mary's Hospital inCentralia.

Mrs. Tinsley, who lived most of her lifetime in the Dix neighborhood, was 84 years, one month and seven days of age.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Boyd Christian church. The Rev. Merle Melton will officiate and burial will be in Ebenezer cemetery. The body will remain at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix,where friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Tinsley was born at Dix December 12, 1871, the daughter of Joseph and Cecilia (Chapman) Gossett. (sic.).

On March 29, 1888 she was married to W. W. Tinsley, who preceded her in death 17 years ago. Mrs. Tinsley was a member of the Boyd Christian, church.

She is survived by four sons, Ben of Wood River, Arlie and Art of Dix and Fred of Rockford; two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Sanders and Mrs.Tessie Sanders, both of Centralia; 23 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and one great greatgrandson.


*Note* There is a mistake in this obit. Nancy Ann's maiden name was Chapman. Her mother's maiden name was Gossett.
