Arthur M. Thompson, 83, Christopher, died at 1:20 a.m. today in Veterans Administration Hospital, Marion.

Mr. Thompson was born in Jefferson County, June 12, 1890 to Stephen and Frances Merchank Thompson.

He was a retired construction worker and veteran of World War I. He was a member of the American Legion, Christopher, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

His wife, Madelynn Walton Scott, preceded him in death in 1968.

Mr. Thompson is survived by a stepson, Robert Walton Scott, Lafayette, Ind.; four brothers, Rosco, Sesser, Bryan, Glendale Ariz., Earl, Tamaroa, and Alva, Wonder Lake.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Gilbert Funeral Home, Christopher, Burial will be in the Ward Cemetery, Mulkeytown. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
