Pearl (Jackson) Thompson

Mrs. Pearl J. Thompson, 79, of 1221 Walnut Street, died at 10:45 a.m. Sunday (December 15, 1957) in Margenette Nursing Home, where she had been a patient since February. She had been in failing health more than a year.

Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Harrison Jackson, she was born June 6, 1878 at Opdyke, Illinois, where she was reared.

The family later moved to Mt. Vernon where she was married March 9, 1898, to William John Thompson. The couple moved to Danville in 1915.

Mrs. Thompson was a member of St. James Methodist Church, Circle 7 of the WSCS, Woman's Club of Danville, Danville Garden Club and a former member of Danville Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving are two sons, Frank D. Thompson of Denver, Colo.,and Floyd L. of Danville; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby L. Burt of Danville; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, George W. Jackson of E. St. Louis; and a half-brother and two half-sisters, Marvin Jackson and Misses Mary and Hattie Jackson, all of Johnson City, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, May 31, 1944, and by a son Roy, and two brothers.

The body is at the Pape Memorial Home for services at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Paul Curry will officiate, with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery.
