William Calvin TAYLOR, died of heart disease, about 3 o'clock this morning, at his home, corner of Harrison and Casey streets, after an illness of several weeks duration.

Deceased was born in Hamilton county, near Enfield, October 11, 1848, consequently was in the 51st year of his age at the time of death.

He leaves a wife and family of seven children, Oscar, John, Ida, Walter, Ethel, Charlie, and Elise, to mourn his demise.

For a number of years Mr. Taylor has suffered from periodical attacks of epilepsy, but as they were of not frequent occurence nor appeared to be of a very grave character neither himself nor him family realized the seriousness of his condition.

About a month ago, however, he had an attack of unuseal severity which greatly alarmed his friends and family and after a consultation it was decided to take him to the Baptist Hospital in St. Louis in the hope tht he would be benefited by a systematic course of treatment at that institution. In this anticipation they were mistaken and after making an examination of his condition Mr. Taylor's family were informed by the superintendent of the hospital that a cure was impossible and that he could only live a short time.

He remained in St. Louis about a week or ten days and having apparently regained some of his former strength, was brought home by his son Oscar, who remained at his bedside during his stay in the hospital. For a short time after coming home he seemed to improve rapidly but a reaction set in a few days ago and his decline became manifest to his family and friends. Yesterday his condition had grown very much worse and all hopes for his recovery was abandoned, although the efforts of his physician and family to bring about is recovery was not relaxed in the least.

Deceased leaves a brother, Adam Taylor, living one mile west of Ina and a half brother and two half sisters residing in Hamilton county.

Mr. Taylor was a member of the Baptist church and was well known in this city, where he conducted a hack and transfer business for many years.

The funeral will be held at the family residence at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, Rev. W. A. Browder officiating. The interment will be at Oakwood cemetery.
