Minnie (Newell) Taylor

Minnie TAYLOR, 70 Dies at Woodlawn

Mrs. Minnie Taylor, 70, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Diel of near Woodlawn.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist church in Waltonville. The Rev. G.A. Phelps, of Chester will officiate and burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Woodlawn. At 5:00 p.m. today the body will be taken from the Fry Funeral home to the home of Mrs. John Diel, two miles southwest of Woodlawn, where friends may call at any time until the funeral hour.

Ms. Taylor was born March 23, 1879 in Jefferson County.

In 1900 she was married to Gifford Taylor who preceded her in death in 1946.

She is survived by three sons Everett of Carbondale, Alva of Mt. Vernon and Earl of Springfield, Ill; one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Diel of Woodlawn; three brothers, Norm Newell of Mt. Vernon, Earl and John Everett Newell of Waltonville, a half brother Oscar Newell of Waltonville; a half sister Myrtle Freeman of Waltonville; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
