Strickland Dies 


Rosa R. Strickland, wife of D.M. Strickland, died at 4:50 p.m. Monday at the 
family home, 1624 Forest Avenue at the age of 70 years six months and ten days. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Universalist church in Waltonville 
at 1:30 p.m. with Dr. R. B. Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow at Knob Prairie 
cemetery.

Mrs. Strickland was born March 22, 1874 in Waltonville, to Henry C. and Mary E. 
(Gilbert) Foreman. She was married to D. M. Srickland December 1, 1897. Surviving 
are her husband, a son, Sgt. Stacy C. Strickland of Fort Bliss, Texas, a daughter, 
Mrs. Ruth McCowen of Waltonville, a brother, W. E. Foreman, and a sister, Mrs. Cora 
Hartley of Waltonville and four grandchildren.

The body will remain at Myers chapel until funeral hour and will be taken directly 
to the church.
