Daniel M. Strickland, of Waltonville, died at 2:00 a.m. Sunday at Alton State Hospital, where he had been a patient for two weeks.Mr. Strickland, a retired farmer, was 90 years, ten months and 25 days old.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Fry Funeral Home in Waltonville. The Rev. Robert Freytag will officiate and burial will be in Knob Prairie cemetery at Waltonville. The body will lie in state at the Fry Funderal Home, where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. today.

Mr. Strickland was born in Jefferson county November 21, 1870, the son of William S. and Martha M. (Ward) Strickland.

He was married December 1, 1897 to Rosa R. Foreman, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by one son, Stacy C. of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth McCowen of Waltonville; five grandchildren and one great grandchildren; two brothers, Marion of Mt. Vernon and Harry of Pickneyville; and one sister, Mrs. Lau? Rice of Gooding, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and three sisters.
