Fred E Strattan, Former Resevoir Caretaker, Dies

Fred E. Strattan, caretaker at Mt Vernon resevoir for 19 years died this morning at 11;45 at his home near Summersville. He was 71 years, 11 months and 7 day's of age.

Mr Strattan was born Nov.4,1873 in West Liberty Iowa to Benjamin and Adelia Gregg Strattan and was united in marriage Feb.25, 1896 to Miss Hattie Marie Ellis who survives.

A son Leonard Strattan of Mt Vernon, Mrs A.L Porter, Mrs E.L. Funkhouser both of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Floy Prather of Springfield IL, two brothers Charley and Roy both of Mt. Vernon, 12 Grandchildren and one Great Grandchild also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Evertt Apgar in Myers Chapel at 10;30.m. Saturday and burial will be made in Oakwood Cemetery. Until then the body will remain at the chapel.
