Susie Josephine (Simmons) Storment

Susie Josephine (Simmons) Storment, 87, of Warsaw, Ind., and formerly of Plymouth, Ind., and Mt. Vernon, died 9:45 a.m. Aug. 25, 1999, at the home of a daughter in Warsaw. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters.

Mrs. Storment was a homemaker.

She was born Nov. 25, 1911, in Jefferson County, a daughter of Ira Gilbert and Margaret Cordelia (Deering) Simmons.

June 25, 1938, she married James E. Storment, who died March 10, 1999.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with the Rev. Timothy Pate officiating. Burial will be in Donoho Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.

Survivors include Mrs. Storment’s three daughters, Carolyn and husband F. William Ratliff of Belen, N.M., and twins Jane and husband David Mayhew of Warsaw, Ind., and Ann and husband James C. Davis Jr. of Plymouth, Ind.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Lydia Margaret Hart of Hillside; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Storment was a member of West Salem Trinity United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon, and a graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Esther Myers and Nora Marteeny; brothers Oscar, Carroll, Walter, Earl, George and Kelley Simmons; an infant brother; and an infant sister.

Memorials may be made to Kosciusko Hospice and will be received at the funeral home at any time.
