Ernest Standerfer

Ernest STANDERFER, 91 of Mt. Vernon and late of Nashville, Tennessee died at 12:05 a.m. June 12, 1999 at Vanderbuilt University Hospital in Nashville.

He was an accountant and was employed with Bayer Motor Co., the Carpet Korner and Holman Motor Co, as well as many other businesses working from his home.

He was born August 3, 1907 in Ewing to Milton and Charlotte “Lottie” (KING) STANDERFER, both are deceased.

He married Claradean DALE on January 1, 1927 in Mt. Vernon and she survives.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home and burial in Memorial Gardens near Mt. Vernon.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son Ernest Dale and wife Doris Standerfer of Nashville, Tennessee and grandchildren, Paul (Betty Lou) STANDERFER of Smyrna, Tennessee and Sarah (Mark) GROVES of Birmingham, Ala.

He was a longtime member of Logan St. Baptist Church in Mt Vernon, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years. Also a member of the Masonic Lodge # 31 in Mt. Vernon AF and AM and a member of the High Twelve Club. He was active in the United Commerical Travelers for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mable FIELDS.
