Claude Snyder, 71, of Benton Route 1, died Sunday at Franklin Hospital.

Mr. Snyder, a retired carpenter, had been in failing health for several years.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Benton.

Surviving are four children; Mrs. Joan Johnson, Philo Snyder and James Snyder, all of Benton and Mrs. Elaine Walker, Post Falls, Idaho, and one sister, Mrs. Pearl Bandy, Benton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home, with the Reverend Earl Dickey officiating. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery near Mt. Vernon. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
