Mrs. Mary F. Smith, wife of M. A. (Dick) Smith, died at her home, 304 Walnut Street, late yesterday afternoon. She was 74 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wednesday at the Myers chapel, 122 North Tenth street, with Rev. Cyrus Maulding officiating. Interment will be made in the Williams cemetery. The body will remain at the chapel until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Smith was born in Jefferson county April 17, 1862, a daughter of Mack and Delilah (Hunt) Scott.

On March 2, 1886 she was united in marriage with Mr. Smith in this city. She had lived here for the past 53 years.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Robert C. and Milton M. Smith, both of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Mrs. Alva Merritt, Mt Vernon; and one sister Mrs. R. J. Bullock of St. Louis, Mo.
