Cereta (Dubois) Smith

Cereta Smith, 73, of Madisonville, Ky., formerly of Mt. Vernon, died 3 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at Oddfellows Cemetery in Woodlawn with the Rev. Paul Ritter officiating. Those attending this service are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Thursday. Visitation is noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

She was born Feb. 22, 1930, in Mt. Vernon, to the late Frank and Addie (Dixon) Dubois.

On Sept. 2, 1976, she married Harold Smith in Decatur, and he survives.

She was a homemaker.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Randy (Carol Ann) Beal of West Frankfort; a daughter, Patsy (Terry) Hall of Madisonville, Ky.; three stepsons, Anthony Smith of Springfield, Michael (Michelle) Smith of Mechanicsburg and Stanley (Tracey) Smith of Ontario, Calif.; a sister, Thelma J. Brieseacher of Mt. Vernon; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Claude, Virgil, Ivan and Raymond Dubois; three sisters, Bessie King, Edith Dubois and Betty Phelps and a granddaughter, Jennifer Beal.
