Thomas B. Short died of brain fever at his home in Webber township nine miles northeast of Mt. Vernon at 5:30 yesterday afternoon, of brain fever after a brief illness.

Deceased was about 50 years of age and was born and raised in this county.

He was a devoted member of the M.E. church, with which he had been connected since boyhood.

Deceased leaves a wife and six children.

On Sunday he paid a visit to his mother, who lives in the neighborhood of his home, and seemed to be as well as usual.

The funeral occurred at 3 o'clock this afternoon under the direction of Ed Fergerson. The interment was at Atkinson cemetery.
