Birdie Settle, Ina Resident Dies At Age 88

Mrs. Birdie Settle, 88, of Ina, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ina Funeral Home. The Rev. Larry D. Clyatt will officiate and burial will be in Kirk cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Ina Funeral Home where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. today.

Mrs. Settle was born Sept. 9, 1881 in Jefferson county, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Sweetin) Bourland.

She was married to Charlie Settle, who preceded her in death in 1946.

Mrs. Settle was a member of the Ina Freewill Baptist church.

Survivors include one son, Russell Settle, of Ina; three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son.
