Joel Emanuel SECHREST, who resided on the Old Union Road on Route 2, died at 2:30 this morning at Jefferson Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for the past four days. He was 58y 5m 21d of age.

Mr. SECHREST was a retired carpenter.

Funeral
services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Sam McCOY will officiate and burial will be in Hopewell CEMETERY. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. SECHREST was born July 15, 1899 in Jefferson County, the son of William A. and Lorena (BROOKMAN) SECHREST.

He was a lifetime resident of the county.

He was married to Florence McDUFFY, who survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Bobbie M. of Mt. Vernon, Leonard Dale of the U.S. Navy and Steven, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Sue HAGGERTY of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Charles of Chester, IL; four sisters, Mrs. Lena NELSON and Mrs. Vera MAYO of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Beulah PUCKETT of Salem and Mrs. Naomi DAVIS of Chester; and five grandchildren.
