Chestine E. (Bradley) Sechrest

Chestine E. Sechrest, 70, 641 Oak Ave., died at 10:30 am Thursday in Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was employed for several years in the dietary department at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Mrs. Sechrest was born in Franklin County Feb.1, 1914, the daughter of Earl G. "Garney" and Ethel (Brayfield) Bradley.

She first married Melvin Rodgers, who died in 1955.

In 1972, at Troy, Mo., she married Ullon A. "Jack" Sechrest, who survives.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday at the Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. LeRoy Marvel officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 pm today at the funeral home.

In addition to her husband, survivors include one son, Donald "Buck" Rodgers of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Green of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Virgil "Sonny" (Shirley) Belmont of Bluford; three stepsons, Bert Sechrest of Granite City, Greg Sechrest of Collierville, Tenn., and Mike Sechrest of the U.S. Army, Fort Campbell, Ky.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Larry (Vera Jean) Bloomquist of Mitchell and Lois Elaine Sechrest of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Glen (Alma) Johnson of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Charles (Imogene) Lambert of Christopher; two brothers, Dalton Bradley of Christopher and Bill Bradley of West Frankfort, and several nieces and nephews,

Mrs. Sechrest was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
