Ruby (Johnson) Scott

Funeral services for Ruby N. Scott, 70, of Route 2, Bluford, who died Tuesday morning at Good Samaritan Hospital, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bluford Funeral Home with Rev. Richard McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Black Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.

Mrs. Scott was born Jan. 7, 1907, in Webber township, the daughter of Joel and Martha (Green) Johnson.

She married Walter Scott at Bluford on April 19, 1925.

She was a member of Salem Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Walter; three sons, Marvin W. Scott of Belle Rive and Fred L. Scott and James E. Scott, both of Bluford; a daughter, Doris M. Anderson of Rockford; 11 granchildren; two brothers, Homer Johnson of Bluford and Runyon Johnson of Wayne City; a sister, Nova Jenkins of Rochelle; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, a granddaughter, four brothers, a sister, and a son-in-law, Robert Anderson.

Relationship - None but she was the sister-in-law of my maternal grandfather's sister, Arzetta (Davis) Johnson (1895-1980), wife of Oliver Ross Johnson (1888-1970) .
