Cecil Dean Sallee

Cecil Dean Sallee, 77, of Bonnie died 8 a.m. Sept. 14, 2005, at Nature Trail Healthcare Center in Mt. Vernon.

He was a foreman at the Locke Stove Co.

Mr. Sallee was born April 28, 1928, in Lawrence County, Ind., to Henry H. and Laura Nora (Sheeks) Sallee.

He was first married to Bernice Loe Scott Sallee on Aug. 7, 1948, in Morganfield, Ky.; she preceded him in death March 1, 1996.

He later married Shirley Riggs Jones Sallee Dec. 6, 1996, in Mt. Vernon; she survives.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Revs. Frank Huston and Dwain Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Hams Grove Cemetery in Jefferson County. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Sallee is survived by his wife, Shirley Jones Sallee of Bonnie; two daughters, Saundrae Sue Campbell and husband Gaylord of Marana, Ariz., and Diane Wilson and husband Gary of Opdyke; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; two stepdaughters, Yvonne Leneave and husband Raymond of Bonnie and Leanne Anselment and husband Pete of Dahlgren; six stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, James H. Sallee of Scheller; three sisters, Lou Case and husband Maxey of Bluford, Carmie Stich of Mt. Vernon and Catherine Magruder of Oakland; two sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; two brothers; a sister; and a great-granddaughter.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
